Compared to Fjllrven’s heavier-duty trekking trousers, these Abisko Hybrids are a more lightweight option for summer hiking. They’ve switched out their usual rugged G-1000 polycotton front panels for a more breathable and flexible G-1000 Lite Stretch fabric, while the back is made from an even airier stretchy polyamide/elastane blend. The result is a trouser that’s plenty tough enough for extended wilderness treks, but much more comfortable in warmer weather. A laminated elastic waistband does away with the need for a belt, while ventilation zips help you cool off on the uphills. And if you do want to add extra weather-proofing then you can increase the water and wind-resistance of the front panels with a coat of Fjllrven’s Greenland wax.

For the most accurate result, you should be measured wearing only your undergarments or close-fitting clothing, for example, a base layer. Its not a good idea to measure yourself wearing jeans, sweaters or other bulky clothing.
When it comes to iconic Swedish exports, Fjllrven is right up there with IKEA and Volvo.* The Arctic Fox has been in the outdoor gear game since the 60s, but the story really dates back to 1950, when founder ke Nordin then 14 years old took his mums treadle sewing machine down to the cellar and cobbled together his first rucksack.
Some of Fjllrvens products are instantly recognisable, including the Knken backpack originally designed for Swedish schoolkids in the 1970s and their famous Greenland jacket, first released in 1968. But they also have a knack for combining vintage looks with modern materials and refinements. Products in their Vardag line, for example, were inspired by a deep dive into the brands old catalogues and feature the brands 70s logo instead of the modern one.
Quintessentially Scandi, Fjllrven kit is built tough and dependable for people who live, work and play in the outdoors, day-in, day-out. Youre as likely to see their popular Keb trousers on gamekeepers and foresters as you are on hikers and bushcrafters.
But this is a brand that does more than just gear. ke Nordin was all about the shared experience of the outdoors, and since 2005, thousands of people every year have taken part in their Fjllrven Classic treks which now operate in seven different countries from Sweden to Korea, including the UK.
