Truck Shell K9 Roof Rack Kit

The Eezi-Awn K9 Roof Rack Systems for your Canopy shell is very versatile. If you have a surface on the top of your shell, we can help you put a roof rack system on it. Our racks come in five lengths and two widths. Measure the length and width of your canopy shell top and compare that to our list of optional sizes.The system includes a pair of universal mounting rail, a set of rail mount feet, and a platform. The universal mounting rail comes with no holes drilled in it. It has an indent in the bottom of the rail saddle to ensure your hole drilling is centered. Typically, you would drill 4-5 holes per rail to attach it to the shell top. Or you can match the holes already there from another brand of track. Mounting hardware is not included as we are not sure how thick the surface of your shell is. We use M6 Stainless Steel Button Head Cap Screws combined with fender washers and M6 nylock nuts on the inside of the canopy roof. An alternative is to install a 1/4″x1″ aluminum flat stock to the inside roof, to sandwich the shell between the two surfaces for more support. Once the rail is in place, you attach the feet to the rail, and the platform to the feet. You are good to go.

Capacity

Capacity of the K9 roof rack system is broken into two measurements, static weight and dynamic weight. Static is when the vehicle is stationary. Dynamic is when the vehicle is in motion. We have not tested the K9 racks on vehicles to the point of roof failure. We can tell you what we have tested ourselves effectively. A dynamic capacity in the range of 500 pounds is possible. That load included a RTT, awning, dual fuel can holder, aluminum storage case with recovery gear, shovel, axe, under mount table, light bar, etc on a 2.2M long rack. A static capacity of 1000 pounds is possible. An example of static load increase would be adding people in the tent on the roof. Please understand these capacities are on vehicles that have modified suspensions designed to manage this amount of weight. They are not a warrantied or guaranteed capacity. Your load capacity will vary.
