These days if you talk about fleece, chances are you mean polyester rather than the stuff off the back of a sheep. But not if you’re Amundsen. Their Heroes insulated bodywarmer is made with 55% real wool, mixed with polyester for a fluffy sherpa wool texture. Not only is it deliciously warm and soft, but the wool is undyed so the colourways depend on the mix of sheep wool they’ve used. It’s got a snug-fitting collar and handwarmer pockets, and they’ve cut it quite long in an old-fashioned jerkin style that should spare you the dreaded ‘cold-kidney’. Amundsen also have a knack for stylish little accents, and the patch chest pocket in waxed fabric is a nice touch.
