First launched in the 1970s, the Rven jacket is a recognisable homage to the legendary M-65 US Army field jacket a Vietnam-era icon made famous by countless movies including Rocky and Taxi Driver. But while the aesthetics are absolutely on-point, the materials, build quality and cut are way above army surplus. It’s made in Fjllrven’s super-tough G-1000 polycotton which can be made more weatherproof with a coating of their washable Greenland wax while the packaway hood utilises a lighter polyamide/cotton HC-Lite fabric. Two-way zips and a snap-closure wind flap keep the draughts out, and there are cinch cords at waist and hem to streamline the fit. Four roomy pockets have unfussy button flaps, with side-entry to the two lower ones so you can warm your hands.   All you need is a tape measure!

  Avoid bulky clothes

  For the most accurate result, you should be measured wearing only your undergarments or close-fitting clothing, for example, a base layer. Its not a good idea to measure yourself wearing jeans, sweaters or other bulky clothing.

  1. Head– Measure the head around the biggest part and above your eyebrows.
  2. Arm Length– Bend the elbow slightly, then measure from the center back of the neck, over the shoulder to the elbow, and down to the wrist.
  3. Chest– Measure straight under your arms around your body at the fullest part of your chest.
  4. Waist– Measure around your waist at the narrowest part.
  5. Seat– Standing with your feet hip-width apart, measure around your hips at the widest part.
  6. Inner Leg Length– Standing in a straight position, measure from your crotch down the inside leg to the floor.
